Why We Started
Why We Started
2nd Chance Inc. was founded on the belief that people should not be defined by their circumstances. Too many individuals face difficult seasons without the resources, guidance, representation, or support necessary to move forward. Some are displaced. Some are struggling financially. Some are navigating major life transitions. Others have simply been overlooked by the systems and communities that are supposed to support them.
We created 2nd Chance Inc. to provide more than temporary assistance. We wanted to create a place where people could be seen, heard, supported, and given an opportunity to move forward. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild, regain stability, discover their strengths, and create a different future.

Today, 2nd Chance Inc. provides counseling, coaching, supportive services, resources, advocacy, and community-based programs designed to address the real-life challenges facing the people we serve.
Our work focuses on the whole person. We help individuals work through challenges, identify their options, build confidence, develop practical life skills, and take steps toward greater stability and independence. We connect people with resources and opportunities while providing the encouragement and guidance needed to help them make their next move.

At 2nd Chance Inc., we believe your circumstances may be part of your story—but they don't have to be the end of it
2nd Chance Inc. is expanding its community impact through a mental wellness initiative designed to support individuals navigating the lasting effects of trauma, homelessness, sexual abuse, and religious or spiritual abuse.
We recognize that not all wounds are visible and that rebuilding a life requires more than addressing immediate circumstances. Many individuals carry emotional and psychological burdens that affect their confidence, relationships, sense of identity, stability, and ability to move forward.
Our mission is to create safe, compassionate, and judgment-free spaces where individuals can access support, resources, education, and opportunities to begin rebuilding their lives.
Through trauma-informed programming, peer support, mental wellness education, community workshops, professional partnerships, and referrals to qualified mental health providers, 2nd Chance Inc. seeks to address the human experience behind the struggle.
Our initiative will focus on:
- Supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse and sexual trauma
- Providing supportive resources for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability
- Creating safe spaces for individuals healing from religious trauma, spiritual manipulation, and institutional abuse
- Promoting mental wellness, emotional awareness, self-worth, and personal restoration
- Connecting individuals with licensed mental health professionals and community-based resources
- Encouraging individuals to reclaim their identity, rebuild confidence, and envision a future beyond their circumstances
At 2nd Chance Inc., we believe people should not have to spend the rest of their lives defined by what happened to them.
Because a second chance isn't simply about starting over. It's about having the support and resources to build a life beyond what you've survived.
